WORSHIP

MINISTRY

We gather to offer our hearts to Christ, minister to the body of believers, and to proclaim the Word of God - all through the context of worship.

We consider Music Ministry a high call, and do everything in our power to reflect that through our pursuit of musical excellence, by striving to live holy as Christ is holy, and by allowing the Holy Spirit to lead our praise and worship.

IF CHRIST IS NOT THE CENTER OF WHAT WE DO ON AND OFF THE STAGE, THEN WE MISS THE POINT OF OUR CALLING.

OUR HEART FOR WORSHIP

Corporate worship and the Word are two major pillars in why we come together at Church of the Harvest. This guides our approach to how we lead the congregation in worship within our services. We gather to offer our hearts to Christ, minister to the body of believers, and to proclaim the Word of God - all through the context of worship. In this we attend God. We celebrate who He is. We worship His majesty, and through His presence our hearts and lives are changed. This is who we are as believers in Jesus.

We consider Music Ministry a high call, and do everything in our power to reflect that through our pursuit of musical excellence, by striving to live holy as Christ is holy, and by allowing the Holy Spirit to lead our praise and worship. If Christ is not the center of what we do, on and off the stage, then we miss the point of our calling. We not only make Him the object of our worship and adoration, but we realize that His grace is the source of any musical ability we have. Thus it is our honor to give our gifts back to Him.

Worship is not just singing however – nor is it a few songs that introduce a sermon. Worship doesn’t only happen when believers join together in song, nor is it an event – it’s a lifestyle!

When we define worship as giving God our time, attention, and affection there isn’t any area of life that’s not involved. It’s all worship! Playing with our kids, encouraging a friend, working hard, and yes, gathering with other believers to sing, read the Word, love God, and one another are all forms of our worship to the Lord. When our hearts are continually connected to God’s, the worship never stops.

Jesus said the Father is seeking worshipers but He is seeking a certain kind of worshiper – those who will worship both in Spirit and truth. We worship in Spirit through our communication and relationship with Him. We also, worship in truth as we authentically reflect who He is in us to others. Our goal then is to have a constant awareness and demonstration of His presence in our lives – in everything we do and say: in our relationships and our tasks, as well as our Sunday celebrations. This is the foundation upon which the praise and worship ministry at Church of the Harvest is built.
