Jesus gave the mandate to go and make “disciples.” We believe this charge is for all churches, and, as modeled by Jesus, that discipleship is relational, not institutional. Thus we use Harvest Groups (aka: small groups) to help create deep connections with the aim of developing true disciples of Jesus through community and accountability,
Not at all. Harvest Groups are a place where Christians and non-Christians alike can explore Jesus and His teachings together. We encourage you to invite your friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc., to attend.
No. Jesus’ command was to go into all the world and make disciples, so we hope that we will have people who do not attend COTH as part of our Harvest Groups.
Most groups meet weekly in homes during the evening, but they are also free to meet anywhere and at any time as long as it’s conducive to conversation and Godly community.
Each Harvest Group has a life of its own, but the goal is some discussion, prayer, and fellowship time.
Yes, you have to be a member of the Church of the Harvest to lead a Harvest Group. Going through a membership class helps ensure that all leaders agree to the church's doctrine. We offer a New Members class every quarter.
Yes, free childcare is provided one night a week. To accommodate this, children must be registered in advance. Childcare is only available to children in 5th grade and under.
